It might be simpler to move to Fedora instead. I don’t know the exact gnome release it uses, but I’m avoiding it since it doesn’t work well.

Usually upgrading to Gnome 40 isn't advisable. If it needs GTK4, it could cause many applications to fail because they won't work in a GTK4 setup.
