I own a laptop with an Intel i5-2410m and AMD 6470m processor, 8GB RAM. The GPU is faulty; it drops frames every few seconds when playing games in Windows 7. With Windows 10 I get crashes during auto-updates unless the AMD driver is installed. I need only Windows updates and security info, not driver fixes. I’ve tried disabling drivers via settings but ended up using the Group Policy Editor to block updates to avoid crashes. The DDU safemode helped temporarily. Anyone have suggestions for tools or methods to stop the driver update? Thanks!

Yes, install manually or download the driver from the AMD website.

Sorry, you won't be able to. I've been urging for this and hoping for more votes, but it seems people aren't paying attention or think it won't cause an issue. Now we're facing a major issue for many. The only way forward is by using this tool, which lets you postpone the update for several months. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3073930
