Update for Asrock B450M Gaming BIOS with Cyberpower features
Update for Asrock B450M Gaming BIOS with Cyberpower features
I previously got a Cyberpower prebuilt PC and am now considering upgrading some components. I need to modify the BIOS on the motherboard, but I can't locate the updates online. I know the board is a rebranded version of the B450. Where can I find the BIOS updates for this model? Any additional details would be appreciated if you have any questions.
I don't recall using CPU-Z or entering BIOS settings. The device listed is an ASRock B450M Gaming with version P1.00.
It might be simpler to open the machine and look for a model number. That data should appear on the board.
It seems the update files provided only reach version 2.20, but I need 2.30 to install the Ryzen 5 5600X. The support representative mentioned using the B450M/AC BIOS might trigger a warning or risk damaging the motherboard or PC.
The motherboard displays B450M/ac, which suggests the BIOS flash from ASRock should function properly. It makes little sense for Cyberpower to modify and rewrite firmware so closely matched, as they likely want to protect their products. Updating the BIOS carries risks, since any issues could harm your motherboard. (And try not to mention you attempted an unauthorized firmware update if you need to return it.)
The BIOS is marketed as Cyber Power branded, and they stated only Cyber Power bios would function there, not the official ASRock ones. Both ASRock and Cyber Power confirmed this.
