Update BIOS/UEFI for ASRock AB350M-HDV processor.
I changed my BIOS/UEFI settings on my motherboard to the newest release (version 5.90) since I intend to switch from the R5 1500X to the R5 3500X. No intention of purchasing a different board at this time. Issues only became apparent shortly after startup. The default cooler fan kept fluctuating between high and low speeds, even when idle and not overclocked. It ceased operation once I cleaned the cooler. Now it becomes extremely noisy at around 60°C and intensifies further after running a benchmark like Shadow of the Tomb Raider, staying loud even after cooling stabilizes. I've attempted all possible fixes—soap and water on the heat sink, dusting the CPU fan, cleaning GPU fans and cooler, re-seating RAM, resetting UEFI settings, adjusting fan profiles—but nothing helped. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. P.S. I haven't overclocked yet.
It seems my explanation was a bit scattered. The CPU cooler fan wasn’t noticeable during heavy use before the BIOS update, but now it spins much louder than usual. Even when temperatures drop, the noise remains high. Switching the fan profile to silent mode in BIOS didn’t reduce the sound.
Interesting issue with Ryzen fan speed settings after an update. I’m not very familiar with the details, but I think a possible fix is to adjust the fan profile manually. However, it could be risky since the problem might stem from something else entirely. Thanks for checking in—I appreciate your patience and hope someone can help clarify this.
