It could happen in six years when a new CS launches due to necessity. My concern is whether they’ll hand out skins directly—like I’m doing them now and then sharing them—or just give players some cash or Steam wallet credits. Or maybe they’ll just refresh the existing CS. I really doubt they’ll ignore players with large inventories, as that would cause too much frustration, so what are your thoughts?

This pace doesn’t seem to matter much given the age of the engine.

Thanks to the latest equipment and updated systems, I believe it’s almost certain. Or it could mean a full redesign.

It's similar to how players purchase additional content for games. When a new title releases, many assume they'll receive compensation for previous purchases made in earlier titles. I find it funny that those who spent heavily on skins would be upset when the experience doesn't carry over between games.

Paying for texture packs that seem artificially valuable doesn’t really make sense. Why wouldn’t developers improve things for a new game instead?

They might simply refresh the game. Remove many of the issues a fresh version would solve. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t. Those with large stockpiles would likely be upset.

They don't have the ability to create a fresh CS in that way. Just like with Dota 2, it would likely be ported forward to Source 2.

Large stockpiles remind individuals that items in one title can differ from another. They must own the situation and understand that the funds invested in one game are solely for that purpose.
