Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know I might be moving to England soon, which means leaving my current setup behind. As a gamer, my next big purchase after settling in will likely be a PC. Probably won’t be able to afford much more than what’s listed right now, so I’m thinking an i3 might be the best choice. The two games we’re considering both require at least a CPU with four physical cores. Of course, this is just my guess—only the official release will confirm it, but what do you think? Is an i3 powerful enough for now?

Right now it's sufficient, but you'd do better with an I5-4440 and a budget H81 board.

Sure, I understand. This timeline seems to be coming up soon, and I’m starting to think that all the preparation might not matter once it’s time.

opt for a portable setup instead of keeping everything on board; create a compact case version and travel with it.

You should step away from your rig because it’s not practical to carry it or send it along. I3 processors are incredibly fast now, making them hard to transport or ship effectively.

If you're relocating, you might consider bringing the CPU and GPU along, just make sure they're not too bulky.

Put your CPU in your pocket and it should work just fine (<- avoid doing this)

I somewhat concur with @gollum99. What really increases the capacity of your system is the enclosure. Just pack the CPU, motherboard, and graphics card, plus an SSD or HDD and a power supply when you arrive.

Visit the pizza place and check if they offer a free box. Place the mobile without the cooler inside and wrap it up neatly. It works perfectly!

For everyone discussing shipping: It's extremely costly (1-200€ for my complete setup, plus I'd likely have to take apart it somewhat and send the GPU separately). "Moving" refers to traveling by plane with a suitcase and a bag packed full of clothes, possibly ending up on a friend's couch until I secure a place of my own. Essentially, I'm abandoning everything and beginning anew. I think I'll part with it or pass it down to my brother, who still uses a 1st generation dual-core Athlon X2 from around 2005.
