So the video above demonstrates an issue a friend of mine is having with his PC. There's a playlist with a couple more videos here . This is unlike anything I have seen before, and he says it only happens with some games and not others. Anybody seen this before? Any ideas what the problem is? He has a GTX 760, AMD FX 4300 and a single stick of Kingston 8GB. Plus he tells me graphics drivers are up to date. Here is his description of trying to play Dragon Age Inquisition: He also said his fans span up to very high, very loud speeds at the time, too.
Is there a performance issue with your CPU? A 760 chipset seems unlikely, but... (that was a mistake). Which components boost the CPU or GPU? Could the monitor be the problem? Do you have another system connected to it? Or perhaps a TV that can stress-test the GPU?
If this was the sole instance, it appears the issue lies with the game rather than the hardware. The cursor doesn’t stutter during playback. Would you like me to request more information, such as how long this has been happening or any unusual CPU/GPU activity?
Apologies for the oversight, but he has resolved his issue now. He was worried about a buzzing sound in his PSU (likely a capacitor or inductor) each time he powered off his PC, so he would always switch it off and unplug it. It seemed to interfere with the CMOS internal clock used for certain animations. Now he realizes the buzzing isn’t a big problem, so he no longer does this and everything is functioning properly.
