Hello, I’m experiencing this unusual graphical issue unexpectedly. It appears randomly during normal operation and while scrolling at various times—such as slow scrolling, middle mouse button movement, and using the Page-up/down buttons. A thin black or gray bar stays fixed at the top of my screen, spanning the entire width, and remains unchanged even when scrolling down. It doesn’t seem to be linked to browser problems.
What I’ve tried so far:
- Restored monitor settings to defaults
- Re-seated DisplayPort cables (NÖRDIC DPDP-N2030 [3Meter])
- Disabled AMD freesync
- Re-seated RAM
- Re-seated GPU
- Reinstalled GPU drivers and set to factory defaults
- Updated other hardware drivers

Please note:
- I had faulty RAM during setup, which I returned/exchanged under warranty.
- XMP/EXPO is off; BIOS settings haven’t changed much beyond TPM being disabled.
- I didn’t overclock the GPU; I underclocked it slightly to reduce power use, and it runs stably even under full load.
- Power consumption dropped by over 200 watts, with a 5% performance loss.
Anyone know what might be causing this glitch? A quick search didn’t yield the answer I need, as it doesn’t match typical problems. The only consistent clue is that the issue tends to appear when a YouTube page or video is open on either monitor. It could be a display-port cable problem, but before replacing hardware, I’d like to check if it’s related to software.
I mentioned earlier that I attempted to reset everything to the original settings during driver installation, but it keeps occurring even with default options. Since it happens randomly at unpredictable times, it's challenging to verify. I'll try testing it with "EDGE" or another browser open on another monitor to see if the issue persists. This might take a while to respond, as I can't anticipate when or how it will happen.

Checked application logs immediately after the incident, but no significant events were found. Additional logs from various services were reviewed, yet nothing standout appeared.

The only possible cause I can think of is remnants from the installation, possibly linked to hardware problems like bad or failing RAM.
