Unusual video crash problem Issue with video playback failure
I’m dealing with an unusual problem that keeps occurring while playing Starfield. At random moments the video drops completely, but audio remains intact. Changing cables or performing a system check didn’t resolve it—only a hard restart helped. I ran a system file check and DISM repair, but nothing fixed the issue. After updating drivers yesterday, it still happens. Using HWInfo showed normal GPU stats before the crash, and Event Viewer only logged the cold boot event. I haven’t found any logs about the card or crash data from Nvidia. It’s strange that after trying mods in Starfield and switching to RDR2, the problem persists. My PC runs a Ryzen 9 5900X with an RTX 3080 OC, DDR4 3200MHz, 32GB RAM (two 16GB sticks), and uses MSI SPATIUM M461 NVMe SSD.
Nop, this is a 2 years old GPU, and I update the drivers whenever Nvidia App shows it is needed, after doing DDU yesterday I tried using the previous release for my GPU but it just happened again.
