I discovered some thermal paste at my workplace and planned to use it for my computer. Is this normal? It’s white and comes in a small tube, not a syringe.

The thermal paste is suitable as a paste, not as an adhesive. It's fine as long as it meets your needs.

Classic white silicone thermal transfer paste. It flows a bit more than the basic gray varieties, though it still functions. This type shows up mainly on heat-sensitive parts such as linear voltage regulators, yet it should perform just fine on a processor.
