I was playing Monster Hunter Iceborne DLC with all configurations at their highest and suddenly my computer stopped functioning completely. The machine felt like its CPU was being abruptly removed, and all external devices ceased responding. When I pressed the reset button, the PC would start up but display the Q-code 00 from the motherboard. To get it working again, I had to manually switch the power supply unit on and then turn it back off. This kind of failure has occurred since my PC was assembled, though it sometimes resolves itself occasionally and rarely happens. Here are some steps I've tried:
- At the hardware level: re-seated the CPU, replaced the cooler, rebuilt the system from scratch
- Performed stress tests for 2–3 hours using Prime95 with Furmark running in the background
- Ran an OCCT power test for 30 minutes; the system remained stable and operational, though voltage readings were inconsistent—voltage was normal during idle.
My PC specs: Ryzen 5900X (Asus X570-E), BIOS 4204, XMP enabled, no PBO, Rebar on, virtualization active, everything else default.
Hardware: Corsair RGB 3600mhz 32GB, RTX 3080 Vulcan OC (OC BIOS), Corsair HX 850W Platinum 2TB WD Blue 1TB SSD, 970EVO 500GB, 870EVO 500GB (boot drive).
Operating system: Windows 11.

If anyone can assist, please help—I’ve been dealing with this issue since I got the computer. It comes and goes, and I’m still confused about what’s wrong. The motherboard has been an issue; I had to return it via RMA three times from Asus because they kept sending faulty boards. Also, this video might clarify what happened. Sorry for the low quality.

Additional note: After recording this, the system booted into Windows and I tried connecting a USB cable, but accidentally pressed the USB A port, causing the screen to flicker. Once again, the computer became unresponsive with code 00 on the motherboard. Resetting the PSU turned off the display but didn’t start the PC until I flipped it back on.

9E indicates a TPM issue. It doesn't appear in the official BIOS guide, but I noticed similar problems on other Asus boards. The FTPM is integrated directly into the CPU. Do you have the most recent BIOS? I understand some users encountered this error after turning it on.

From what I understand, version 9E indicates the TPM module is enabled, which aligns with my Windows 11 setup. Yes, I recently updated my BIOS and have been maintaining regular updates. However, I still experience occasional instability after upgrading from version 4021 to 4204. The previous BIOS had its own issues—sometimes the PC would shut down unexpectedly while playing games or watching YouTube. Those problems have largely disappeared now. I’ve also tested the power supply under stress tests, but no hardware faults were detected. My system is currently functioning properly. I’m using it for writing this article. The crash occurred specifically when I tried the Monster Hunter Iceborne Main Quest; the game would lock me out, similar to what’s shown in the video. I can play Elden Ring for up to nine hours without issues, and even with different settings (6fps, 144fps), the game remains stable. Regardless of the game type, crashes still happen, which is concerning.

I frequently encountered BSoD when attempting to launch Minecraft via the new launcher on Windows 11; it seems the issue might be related to Windows 11. I returned to Windows 10 once I couldn't open Valorant either.

I noticed a change in the behavior of the 5V rail when I checked it during the day using OCCT. It seemed weaker than expected. When I ran another test now, the rail voltage increased, which might indicate something is different. I’ve tried restarting my PC and even booting from cold, but the rail still stays stable at that level. It’s possible the new BIOS has altered power management settings. If you can share more details, it would help. Thanks!

I realized my approach was different. It turns out extension sleeved cables aren't as straightforward as picking a neatly packaged one and assuming it'll work. Now I'm connecting the cable directly from the PSU, which has stopped the crashes and voltage issues I was experiencing before. Thanks for your help!
