Hey, when I power on my PC, those strange lines appear briefly and vanish after a few minutes. They only show up when I wait a while after starting it, not right away. I’ve checked a few things: updated drivers, changed the GPU slot, and looked for them in the monitor menu (the settings button on your screen). They appear there too, which suggests the issue might be with the display itself rather than the graphics card. I’m using a Samsung monitor with 2k resolution at 144Hz. My main question is: can I be sure it’s a monitor problem and not just a GPU fault? Should I replace the monitor or try another fix? I plan to test it on another PC tomorrow to confirm.

No, I don't have another GPU available for testing.

I can try the monitor with another PC tomorrow. I’m pretty sure the problem is with the monitor itself based on what you described. The lines appear above the "monitor menu" when you press the control button, and they disappear after a while. Some users in other forums mentioned temperature issues, which might explain it, especially since it took longer today because it was cold.

I’d start with another cable first. If that resolves the problem, you’ll know it’s the cable. If moving the monitor to another PC works, it’s likely a GPU issue. If not, it probably points to the monitor itself. What you described seems like a monitor-related problem since it appears in the menu settings. I’d look into whether your monitor has any firmware updates or if you still have warranty coverage.

It clearly indicates a fault in the panel, similar to what old TVs experience where the ribbon cable connection begins to deteriorate. Allowing it to heat up can sometimes temporarily restore the connection as the panel expands due to temperature changes.
