Hello everyone, my old PC is running slower lately, especially in recent games. For about six months now I've been seeing inconsistent frame rates—averaging around 60fps with spikes up to 140, but dropping to 3 to 9 when things change. I tried tweaking settings, resolutions, and frame caps, but nothing fixed it. I’m not sure if the problem is with the graphics card or my CPU, which is pretty old. I thought it might be a CPU issue because the average was decent, though the stuttering got worse at lower resolutions. When I ran a benchmark, the GPU was using almost all its power (98%), which made me doubt the diagnosis. I’d really appreciate your advice on how to figure this out—whether upgrading the GPU, the CPU, or replacing everything altogether makes sense. My specs are: Ryzen 5 2600 GTX, 1070 Ti, 16GB RAM, 128GB SSD, 2TB HDD, 450W PSU.

I think there might be a few issues: a possible CPU or RAM constraint, or maybe the 2TB HDD is restricting performance. Begin with a consistent test and then check the HDD without it connected.
