While using my laptop with Davinci Resolve on battery, it produces a strange clicking sound when moving through the timeline and a screeching noise during rendering. These sounds are faint but perceptible, only occurring while the battery is running. I suspect the battery management system is reacting to the power draw, possibly due to spikes, though I’m not certain if this applies to the ROG Zephyrus G14 R6900h RX6700S input.

i'm not sure about this scenario, but i remember a time when my laptop had a fan that didn't spin when under light to moderate use. sometimes it would briefly increase speed and make a clicking sound. for the screeching, it could be coil whine during charging, since the internal power supply might have more than enough voltage from the power brick.

Sounds to me it is coil wine. There is no fix. It doesn't affect the longevity of the system, or it's performance. If it under the return window from your retailer, and it bugs you, then return it, and buy a different system.
