Unusual shifting patterns on screen when using an AMD graphics card.
Hello, I'm sharing this for a friend so I might take a little time to give details (I built the computer myself, so I’m familiar with most of it, but if I need to test fixes there could be a delay). He’s facing odd flickering problems in various games—currently Minecraft and Cyberpunk, though it might affect other titles too. The issues are shown on Discord streams (check the video example), meaning they’re not coming from his monitor. Here’s a clip of the Minecraft problem: bugtexture.mp4 It appears to be limited to translucent textures. I don’t have an example for Cyberpunk, but it seems similar, though he mentioned it only shows up when FSR is active. What’s unusual is that this bug emerges a bit after starting, around five minutes in. His drivers are up to date, and since the system was brand new about two weeks ago with no used components, there shouldn’t be any underlying issues (it’s all using default settings on the AMD app). I searched online for a while and suggested changing some settings, but nothing helped. Please let me know if anyone has suggestions!
The issue also shows up in Rocket League, and given that it was the sole game he played on his PC, it’s likely a universal problem. It appears only when he restricted his frame rate, reappearing if he lifted the cap. More details: his display supports Freesync but doesn’t influence this bug.
