Using your phone briefly while charging may trigger it to power down, displaying a full discharge screen. Once it returns to normal, the actual charge level appears. If this happens repeatedly and the device feels unusually warm, it could indicate a battery issue. It might be wise to have it inspected or replaced.

Avoid using the device while it charges; it will quickly become warm. If you're using it intensely, it will get even hotter. It's best to let it charge without any activity.

That's not normal behavior. Has the battery life been any worse lately than it has been in the past? The phone can get quite warm during charging, but there's no reason for it to turn off and act like the battery is completely discharged. Even if it's charging at the full 45W that it supports the phone will throttle itself (both power draw and CPU speed) and dim the display if it's getting too warm. What OP is describing is not normal behavior.

It doesn't seem like anything has changed. The battery performance remains consistent.

In the developer options, there's GPU monitoring. This shows you your CPU&GPU usage and temperature. I'd check if your CPU usage is really high. I found that having it enabled reduced my battery life by quite a bit though but my phone has a tendency to randomly start using way more power on the CPU than usual and lasting way shorter, so it might just have been one of these days... I have a Galaxy A52s
