Unusual problem with GPU driver setup.
Earlier, my setup was an R3 2200G with a GTX 1080. It performed adequately but faced limitations. Notably, my system would unexpectedly power on with all lights and peripherals illuminated except the GPU indicator. The debug LEDs would flash and remain on VGA while the screen stayed black. To fix it, I had to wait for the GPU light to activate before restarting. After some investigation, I learned that GPU drivers sometimes fail to initialize promptly, causing the POST process to stall during video checks. Once loaded, restarting would keep the driver active but restart the POST sequence. This behavior happened post-shutdown, not during gameplay. I’d notice the GPU light on upon waking and apply fixes. Recently upgrading to a 5600X resolved the issue completely, delivering smooth performance without artifacts. I also experienced higher temperatures using the original cooler, but the GPU problem didn’t arise then. I upgraded to an AIO cooler, performed multiple restarts, and eventually stopped seeing the GPU light. The challenge remains unsolved with current hardware.
