Unusual power switching problem Issue with device resetting repeatedly Need help resolving this behavior
I just switched cases and installed a new power supply on my gaming PC. Now it randomly freezes or crashes. When I shut it down and restart it, the system keeps rebooting until I turn off the PSU and wait about 20 seconds before turning it back on. I replaced my CX750M with an RM750E. As long as I don’t run demanding games or apps beyond basic use like Google or Discord, it works fine for now. My machine has an i7-8700, 32GB DDR4, and an RTX 2080 Super, all powered by an MSI Z370 SLI Plus. I haven’t experienced any problems until the case and PSU changed. Temperatures are normal, drivers are updated, and it’s been running the same way since early 2023. I haven’t tried reverting to the old PSU yet, but I’m curious if anyone has advice.
I tested it with the old PSU recently and got identical outcomes. After moving everything, I removed the AIO pump from the motherboard and when I reinstalled it, it was rubbing against one of my RAM sticks—replaced that part and resolved the issue. It seems there might have been a poor contact with the RAM. If the problem persists, I’ll remove the board and try it on my desk. Temperatures are now lower and more stable, without any fluctuations before they would shift slightly.
