Unusual PC problems (odd artifact effects)
There’s an odd problem with the PC. It worked normally until the screen went blank while still producing sound. I thought my graphics card was failing, but after removing it and connecting it to the motherboard, the same issue continued. After attempting a different boot setup, I saw artifacts on both screens and the system wouldn’t start Windows. I re-seated the RAM sticks and the problem persisted. It seems the motherboard might be the culprit—this isn’t a typical software error, so it’s unlikely. Any advice would be greatly appreciated before purchasing a new one tomorrow. Also, note that I heard a persistent long beep from the motherboard after the first RAM installation, which disappeared after another reboot.
It doesn't launch into Windows and there are strange visuals during startup. Are you looking for another machine to test the GPU? This could be related to the video card or the motherboard. You might verify if it's the motherboard by attempting to run display settings directly from the board. Could you share the system details and approximate ages of the components? That would help with your inquiry.
I’m not sure if you actually read my message, but as I mentioned earlier, I’ve connected the display port to the motherboard and removed the graphics card. I still have two monitors plugged in, but the same problem continues. I think it’s likely the motherboard itself. I haven’t experienced this issue before—I usually just can’t boot a new computer. The board is quite old, so I’m guessing that’s the cause. Since the graphics card is from the 30 series, thanks for any advice. I’d really like to avoid buying a new motherboard right now.
