Unusual pauses in first-person shooter performance during League of Legends games
Hey everyone! As mentioned in the name, I’m facing strange FPS fluctuations while playing League of Legends. This usually happens once or twice during matches. It’s super frustrating to drop from 120-100 FPS to around 30-20 FPS for a few seconds. My machine is a Dell Vostro 3510 with an Intel i5 1135G7 processor and the built-in Iris Xe GPU. I upgraded the RAM from a single-channel 8GB to a dual-channel 16GB, and also installed a 1TB SSD. I’ve confirmed my drivers and BIOS are current, and I’m using ThrottleStop to manage CPU speeds. I have a screenshot of the settings below. Initially, I thought it was temperature-related, but after disabling turbo mode, temperatures stayed under 60°C. Still, the issue persisted in the next game. I’ve logged everything with HWinfo and checked the graphs—around 14:30 there were odd spikes in FPS. (Attached are a picture and the log file.) I’d really appreciate any advice you can offer! Thanks a lot, Badscream 😄
