I'm finding this game challenging but trying to understand what happened. My screen went dark and made a stuttering noise before the machine restarted, leaving me without a connection. I've checked my monitor with built-in graphics and other cables work, but not the GPU. At first I assumed the GPU failed, though the lights stayed on so power was reaching it. I removed the GPU from its PCIe slot, reinserted it, and turned it back on—this time it worked. The issue seems resolved, but I'm still curious about the cause. Overheating doesn't seem likely because temperatures are around 45°C with a hotspot at 60°C. Here are my system details: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU, G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB 32GB (2x16GB) at 6000MHz CL30 DDR5 EXPO, MSI MPG X670E Carbon Wi-Fi DDR5 motherboard, Aorus Master 6800XT, Corsair RM850 Gold PSU V2, and EK Nucleus CR360 Lux D-RGB.

My take on Starfield is a copied version. I understand I’m not great at this, but I wanted to try it early. I’m not sure if that’s connected to my issue—I’ve heard some people with genuine copies are facing problems too. I’ll use DDU and install a fresh driver to see if it works. Just a note, I forgot to mention updating my GPU drivers earlier. Yeah, Fallout 4 had some big bug issues when it launched.

The GPU comes with default configurations, and I only adjust them when necessary.

I've been downloading pirated games for more than two decades without any malware problems. I'm careful about getting only from trusted sites such as Fitgirl and Skidrow to protect myself. I do this because some developers release games without proper testing, which means they don't deserve my money. Also, demos are no longer accessible, so I like to play a game first before buying it. If I find a game that's reasonably good, I'll back the creators by purchasing it.
