Hello, I just set up my first PC and moved it into an old case called the Cooler Master Master 430 Black. It has both intake and exhaust fans. I’ve noticed something unusual: whenever I press the power button, the fans start up along with the lights, but after a short time they shut off for a couple of seconds. Then a beep sounds from the speaker, followed by the BIOS logo, Windows logo, and the fans restart briefly before everything returns to normal. I’m curious—does this happen? Is it normal or something wrong? My system is Gigabyte Aorus Elite B550 M with XPG white, RGB 2x8 at 3200 MHz, Ryzen 5 5600X, stock settings, plus a 500 GB SSD and an HDD, plus Evga 500 white.
When you power up your computer, the fans typically start and stop while the RGB lights flicker. With a light-up mouse and keyboard, you’ll also see this behavior. It might just be the post sequence handling itself—everything should be okay.
My case fans operate with single LEDs, meaning only one color is used, not RGB. This setup seemed unusual since my previous system didn’t have this behavior—switching between on/off and off/on repeatedly. I noticed something similar with my keyboard lights.
It seems the system is booting up smoothly without any issues. However, it feels unusual since most of my PC starts without any problems. You might want to reset the CMOS to check for settings errors, try applying DOCP/XMP to see if memory is the cause, and verify the memory frequency in Windows just to be sure. If everything still works as expected, it’s probably nothing to worry about.
