Initially faced problems with my internet connection and resolved them by contacting Comcast support for modem router issues. After that, I attempted to update a deadlock via Steam but kept receiving "update failed." I restarted the PC only to discover one SSD wasn’t appearing in my devices or drives. I checked SATA connections after replacing the table and plugging back in the modem, which seemed secure. Then I changed the SATA location on the motherboard without success. Finally, I used Disk Management to verify if the SSD was unallocated. Still no resolution. Any advice?

Occasionally, certain SATA connectors may become unresponsive when using M.2 SSDs. Verify that this isn't the issue. The problem might stem from the SSD failing altogether. A straightforward solution could involve a blown fuse or a damaged protection diode on the SSD, which might be fixable with the right tools—such as a phone repair service. Alternatively, a more complex fault like a malfunctioning SSD controller could be at play.

I don’t have an M.2 SSD. It’s a Crucial MX500 500 GB, and I don’t have the right tools to repair it.

Verify presence in the BIOS. If absent, the system doesn't recognize it. Consider using another SATA cable. Possibly the drive is non-functional.
