No one has mentioned it before. You saved some trial data online to check your network performance at different speeds. Initially, everything seemed normal, but after a day the transfer rate dropped to just 25MB/s. Using another file brought back the expected speeds, suggesting possible corruption or issues with the files you're working with. Since you're new to networking, this might be confusing.

File movement across a network can vary in performance. The way Windows manages it might cause caching or direct access from the storage, which can slow things down if the drive is occupied. To avoid these issues, use separate drives for both testing ends and try large files to observe how speed changes over time.

I've experimented with various solutions and discovered that assigning drives to your desktop works perfectly for most files except the test files you referenced. On both my rigs running at 10GBE speeds, they function flawlessly. I can connect peer-to-peer with my unRAID server using two 2-megaport cards, each rig has one port, and the NAS has a dual port. The issue seems to be with those files I downloaded from the internet.
