Just before Christmas, I switched from an i7 7700k with 32gigs of RAM to a Ryzen 5 5600 with 64gigs of RAM. The same 2080ti moved from old to new, and both are running Windows 10 Pro. I have three monitors and enjoy streaming YouTube on one while working or gaming on another, or playing RuneScape while multitasking. I also stream a couple of times a week for friends and family. On the i7 it’s smooth—no lag or hiccups. Since I’m upgrading to something much faster, streaming shows will start lagging, skipping frames until I have a dedicated window. Usually I stream with background media, but if not, the stream can feel like it’s running out of power. In Task Manager, CPU usage is almost idle, and Firefox or other apps only use a few percent.

Check your monitor setup and connections. Are all monitors linked to the 2080 Ti graphics card? Is Windows Game Mode active? Turn it off temporarily to test if it improves performance. Do you have G-Sync activated? Note its position if needed. Have you reinstalled Windows or used a fresh copy of Windows 10 Pro? Are there any third-party antivirus programs running in Game Mode? Some, like Avast, can cause similar problems. Please reply with your results!
