I received the board yesterday and had it set to run for one hour, but it wouldn’t start. The RGB lights were blinking while the power button didn’t work—no fan spinning either. It seemed to be completely dead. After trying all troubleshooting steps, unplugging components, cleaning RAM, and even removing the board from its case, it still wouldn’t boot. I took it out of my case and bench it, but it remained unresponsive. When I went home after work, I double-checked everything and was ready to contact OCUK for an RMA, but instead decided to try shorting the front panel headers with a flathead. It worked! What’s odd is that the switch I used matched the markings on the board and manual, yet it had to be installed vertically across pins 3 and 4. Normally the power comes from pins 6 & 8, with LEDs for 2 & 4, 1 & 3 for HDD, and 5 & 7 for reset. This setup looks unusual. Have anyone seen anything similar? It seems highly unlikely it was intended that way. I’m considering reaching out to Asus about this issue.

I generally have a screwdriver ready, covering all options (power and ground). My friend even powered it up using a USB hub all day!

I think I discovered a solution that might work for my situation. I switched the BIOS and SO settings from SATA to AHCI, and after two weeks the system is running smoothly without any problems.
