A lot of small and medium enterprises are shifting away from the WSUS approach now. I’ve seen this trend in several companies I’ve worked with recently.

Just go straight to the internet download from MS. I didn’t really think about it, but there must be a reason they’re doing it. Probably some hidden purpose I haven’t considered.

For small businesses with around 50 employees or fewer, strict version control isn't always necessary. WSUS and SCCM can become difficult to manage. Simply establish a clear policy to turn off automatic updates, allowing devices to handle them independently from the internet. As long as users understand that a broken machine requires a reimage, the process is much simpler than dealing with complex endpoints, packages, failed updates, etc.—especially for a limited number of staff. Larger enterprises and servers still benefit from using SCCM.

In my country, technology faces several challenges. Many businesses still use very old hardware without plans to upgrade. My computer runs a 2007 motherboard and only 2GB of RAM. The company antivirus and Windows consume about 1.5GB, and we primarily rely on Google Chrome for our environment.
