I'm working with Rogers (a Canadian ISP) and currently using a plan up to 1gbps down with speeds reaching 30mbps up. A technician visited today to investigate repeated drops and packet loss. He replaced most of the coax heads around the house and outside, and speeds returned to normal after about an hour. However, they dropped back to around 300 down and 9 up, then rebounded to about 800 down and 20 up. Could this be due to sharing the node with another Rogers user nearby? I've had six technicians over, each plugging their laptop into my modem and reporting good speeds before leaving. How can I explain to them that the issue is more serious? Besides frequent disconnects and packet loss, are there other factors or tests I should suggest they run? Thanks ahead of time.

I'm using a standard development environment for testing purposes.

Based on your speeds, it seems you're using Docsis 3.1 cable internet. Start by verifying your connection signals—typically you connect to 192.168.100.1, but only if your ISP permits. Review the data from here: https://www.dslreports.com/faq/16085. Signal problems are common causes of issues, so also examine logs and other settings.

Please clarify your connection type—wired or Wi-Fi. I also need to know which website you're testing on.
