I recently assembled a computer for another person and encountered an unusual problem with the motherboard, likely linked to the I/O shield. During Windows installation, using the case I/O for peripherals functioned smoothly, but after adjusting BIOS settings and rebooting, the integrated LAN and Wi-Fi ceased working, and the mouse displayed significant lag. Upon further investigation, it became clear that part of the I/O shield was making contact with the USB ground, and removing it resolved the issues. I suspect my installation of the I/O shield was incorrect, which ultimately fixed the problem.
