Unusual flashing or moving green dots, just one of the two monitors (main screen)
Hello, I'm experiencing some unusual green pixels appearing on my screen. This has been happening for about a week now. I've attached a video showing the problem. It doesn't always happen, but when it does, restarting or using specific keyboard shortcuts (Win+SHIFT+CTRL+B) seems to help temporarily. I've also noticed other issues recently: when I power on my PC, it only shows on the main monitor. To access the secondary one, I have to switch display settings from extended to just one, then back. After updating to Windows 11, I can't load Valorant and receive an error saying certain components are missing. I've tried installing the graphics driver, cleaning it, and even reinstalling it, but nothing seems to work. My PC specs are: Windows 11 Pro (updated 2 weeks ago), Gigabyte 3070 OC, Ryzen 7 5800X, MSI B550 Gaming Edge, Wi-Fi, 32GB RAM (DDR4 3600MHz). Any advice would be appreciated, whether about the green pixels or these other problems! Thanks a lot.
Are there any programs (including the motherboard or monitoring tools) that could be causing driver issues? Has anything unusual occurred recently? Have you relocated the PC?
This problem will likely be one of two: a faulty cable or a malfunctioning monitor. Positive news is if the issue is only with the cable, it can be easily resolved by replacing it. If the problem persists even with another cable, then the monitor is likely the cause. Quick verification would involve connecting a different device to your monitor and checking for the green indicators. Make sure to test the cable first, as a bad connection will show these signs on any device using the same cable.
Man, just plugging the HDMI cable back in worked. Why do simple fixes usually solve things? Appreciate the assistance!
Great to hear. It turns out the problem was limited to just one monitor, which suggests it might be related to the cable or display. If both were affected, it could point to the GPU or software issues.
