Hello, I'm experiencing something unusual with my new hard drive. It's about three months old and I recently moved all my files from another old drive to it. Recently, yesterday it stopped working properly but now it's behaving oddly. When I open a folder, all the files appear instantly instead of showing one by one. This happens across all folders on this drive, not just another one. It only occurs when I open a folder with many files, and it seems to reveal everything at once. The drive doesn't show any errors in CrystalDiskMark or Western Digital Dashboard software. I've attached a video for reference.

Setting up folders for music optimization speeds things up a lot. However, applying changes to all subfolders isn’t working as expected.

Interesting… my device is acting the same way, but it’s running on an SSD with a fairly recent Windows update. Probably some update hiccup caused it. I’m not sure if anyone else will ever see this issue.

It appears the functionality works exclusively with .mp3 files.

No, it doesn't occur exclusively with specific file formats.

It seems to occur on your SSD storage for photos, affecting the Nikon RAW files you use. It might be a system-wide issue or specific to that drive. I noticed it recently while reviewing some images, which made me think the problem could be with Windows. I’m now pretty sure something is wrong, and I hope many people have experienced this so they can fix it together.

The terms appear as specific metrics within the CrystaldiskMark tool, likely represented by their abbreviated or case-sensitive names.

It's a frequent problem with Windows. When it identifies a media type and adjusts settings, it searches files for more metadata, which slows things down. Choose all folders at the root and click "éléments généraux" with subfolders selected.

It's good to hear that. I'll give it a try too. This behavior has never occurred to me before.
