I just reinstalled Windows again due to some problems, and for one reason or another, DOOM 3 is causing trouble. It's the version you'd find with Gamepass, though I own it because it's a Play Anywhere title—support them, they're shaping the future of gaming! I've played many games without issues, and this new Windows 11 build is running smoother than any previous one. But DOOM 3 isn't cooperating. After a DDU, anyone know what's happening? I'm using Windows 11 Pro Insider Preview Build 22471. I've already changed monitors, edited config files, etc. I'm willing to try DDU now, just in case it's a driver or Windows 11 issue that gets fixed. Interestingly, DOOM 3 is still on DVD and backed up, but I don't see those cheevos anymore—now do I?
As discussed, this update includes cheevos, which I personally don’t mind much these days—though I still don’t worry about them. There are some QOL enhancements and a few aspects that some users dislike. Either way, I accept it. My goal is to back it up properly so I never rely on the DVD version; instead, I’ll use Daemon Tools for the image. To be honest, there aren’t any compatibility settings available for Windows Store apps, and running it as an administrator isn’t an option.
