Hey everyone. I'm experiencing unusual lag in recent titles like Watch Dogs and Battlefield 4. The issue seems to be that performance remains consistent whether I play at medium or ultra settings—same studying and FPS drops. Today I played Battlefield 4 on medium and noticed around 140fps lag and interruptions, while on ultra it's 55-65fps with more interruptions. Watch Dogs also had problems multiple times. My system specs: Intel Core i5-3550 @ 3.70GHz, MSI GTX 660 Ti, DirectCU OC, 2GB GDDR5 RAM, Kingston HDD, Western Digital 320GB drive, Thermaltake case, Fortron HEXA 500W PSU, running Windows 8. Can anyone help?

Which is causing the issue? GPU overload or thermal throttling?

Consider adding "The Worse" mod for Watch Dogs. Your 780 model is struggling with performance, especially on modern games. You might notice some frame drops under this setup.

Is this an issue? You can check for CPU or GPU bottlenecks by monitoring performance metrics and using profiling tools.

Currently, it's insufficient to simply engage in games.

4GB isn't sufficient for BF4 with medium graphics settings. Consider reducing your resolution to avoid needing an additional 4GB.

Yesterday night I stopped all the programs I had running, wiped my hard drive completely, ran cleaner, then updated my PC’s drivers. After that I began playing the Battlefield 4 campaign. There were no major issues on Ultra with around 70 frames per second.
