I purchased a new CPU and GPU after several months of operation. When I noticed thermal throttling or overheating, I upgraded the CPU fan, which improved performance. During installation, I bent some pins but managed to reshape them properly. After that, the CPU functioned normally. However, the GPU is acting oddly in many demanding games (Fortnite, DOOM Eternal, NBA 2K25, etc.), where it sometimes drops to around 10% usage, shuts off the fan, and causes noticeable lag for about five seconds. The CPU reaches full capacity while this occurs, unlike in other titles such as Superliminal, Portal 1/2, Schedule I, Clustertruck, or BeamNG Drive. My Userbenchmark score is available here: https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/70197320. I also ran Prime95 for about seven hours without issues. I reduced settings in Fortnite to check for improvement, but lag still appeared. I considered a PSU replacement since it was old, but even after switching to a newer 1000W unit, the problem persisted. Temperatures are stable now, with both CPU and GPU operating within normal ranges. Time Spy results can be viewed at: https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/132439901? I believe there was a brief lag spike during the CPU test—99% confident. FPS dropped from 32fps to 2fps, then briefly returned to 32fps just before the test ended. Screenshots are available on 3DMark.

Check if Fortnite and nab 2K25 require powerful processors. Look for alternatives that fit your CPU capabilities.

I see RAM running on 2400 MHz which is a huge bottleneck. I see a Ryzen 5900X on an MSI B450M-A which has too weak VRM-s for that CPU. I don't see which resolution you use, but if it's 1080p the 5900X is a bottleneck to the 4070.
