Hey there, I've been working on this build for roughly three years without major interruptions. Recently, I started experimenting with overclocking to boost my cooling setup. So far, everything has run smoothly, but I'm still trying to figure out what's causing the recent trouble. The system I'm using includes an AMD Athlon X4 760K overclocked to 4.1Ghz (with a turbo boost to 4.5Ghz), an AMD Radeon Sapphire R7 260X overclocked, and MSI A78M-E35 with 8 GB DDR3 RAM. I haven't faced any real game performance issues until yesterday after downloading Life is Strange on Steam. When I started the game, it was extremely slow—could barely run at low settings. I tried other titles like Gauntlet, Slayer Edition, and Overwatch to see if the problem was global or just tied to that specific game. In Overwatch, I managed around 3 FPS, which was frustrating. After updating my drivers and installing the latest version, performance improved slightly, but it remained choppy with frequent frame drops. My GPU usage stayed high (80%-100%) while CPU usage stayed low across all games. I'm still trying to connect these dots and understand what might be affecting my setup.

Life is Strange shouldn't cause any problems; it's probably another issue. Look for any special program running in the background. It's possible you didn't power down the game. You might want to reinstall LiS and see if that resolves the issue. Don't remove it under any circumstances.

No, reinstalling LiS will not remove your game save files.

If it's on Steam then no worries though, it seems the game didn't affect your system in any way. Make sure your thermal settings are correct and this appears to be a fairly old configuration.

My thermal layers should work fine. The CPU typically runs around 30°C during heavy use, and the GPU about 50°C under load. I recently played Overwatch again and found myself at 6 FPS on the title screen, with no unusual programs running in the background.

I ran Cinebench to check for changes in performance. It showed a noticeable drop—from around 30 FPS on OpenGL tests to just 17.7 FPS this time. My CPU scores were previously in the low to mid-400s, now I'm seeing about 276 cb. It seems something is slowing down my whole system.
