Unusual BSODs and crashes keep happening.
Dell g7 7700 features a 500g boot SSD and 16g ram with an RTX2070 graphics card. About two years ago, I experienced overheating and throttling issues. To fix this, I adjusted many Windows settings and used ThrottleStop to undervolt, which improved things significantly. Initially, 100mv undervolting was unstable, causing occasional crashes. Later, at around 80mv, the performance stabilized and crashes became rare—usually just a monthly blue screen. Recently, while playing Rust, I had another crash that froze the game for a short time before a BSOD appeared briefly, followed by a black screen. After restarting, I accessed BIOS and booted from my drive using Windows, which offered troubleshooting options. I chose to try fixing it myself, reinstalling Windows with my installation key. During the process, a blue-screen warning about Razor Chroma V2 appeared, which was confusing since I was installing Windows. Now the system has restarted and is at the lock screen. I’m unsure if my boot drive is failing or if repeated BSODs over the past year have damaged my installation. Could ThrottleStop be the root cause? Should I replace the SSD and reinstall Windows, possibly without a license?
