Unusual actions after waking from sleep or hibernation. Need assistance!
I'm not sure if this is the right board to post this to so if there is a more appropriate board I can ask this question on, please let me know. I will occasionally leave my pc unattended for a period of time so that it goes into sleep or hibernation. When I return, one of two strange things seems to happen. 1). Upon returning to my PC and attempting to wake it from sleep, usually with a movement of the mouse or a press of the space bar, the computer will wake but I won't have access to my taskbar on my primary monitor. The best way I can describe it is that the taskbar is stuck underneath the bezels of the monitor. OR 2). Upon returning to my PC and attempting to wake it, the Primary monitor will become inactive all together and my system entirely freezes. My second monitor will still wake up from sleep but I don't have any control over my mouse or keyboard so I'm forced to restart. These glitches don't seem to happen when I manually put my PC into sleep or hibernation, only when the pc puts itself into sleep due to inactivity will these glitches appear. I first noticed these glitches a few months ago after performing a CPU and Motherboard swap. It didn't happen all that frequently at first so I didn't think much of it. But it has recently been happening nearly every time I leave my PC unattended for too long. I only have a picture of the frozen screen at the moment but I will be sure to add another photo of the missing taskbar as soon as it happens again. I would really appreciate some help in trying to fix this. If anyone has seen this before and/or knows of a possible solution, please let me know Thank you all!!!
Navigate to your control panel and locate the setting for adjusting auto-shutdown behavior. You can configure it so the PC remains active beyond a specific duration or until manually turned off. Control panel → Hardware & Sound → Power Options to access the relevant options.
It's a logic challenge that might stem from any cause: - overheating; - faulty hardware parts (especially CMOS battery); - security issues or OS setup problems, particularly when settings aren't appropriate for: -- human interface device and windowing system (keyboard, mouse and 2 monitors). Try disabling the second monitor and see if sleep or hibernation functions.
