Hello! I recently installed Windows on my new PC and everything is functioning properly. However, I have two issues that are bothering me. First, when I open the Downloads folder, it shows dates like "Today" or "Yesterday" instead of the actual download date. Second, if I drag a file to my desktop, it duplicates but still appears in the Downloads folder. I’d really appreciate your help with these problems. Thank you!
In Windows Explorer, select the sort option and choose the date field. This should disable the date-based sorting. For the next step, you can either drag and drop items manually or use specific software to alter the standard drag behavior.
From a technical standpoint yesterday is just a date, which might seem confusing at first. You can turn it off by going to Computer > Click View > Choose another option.
Windows usually copies and pastes by dragging, but if something goes wrong during the move, you lose both versions. To avoid this, switch to shifting the drag or using right-click cut then paste.
