Hey there, seeking expert advice. I just upgraded my PC and heard it might benefit from a lower voltage setting on the Intel Core i9 14900kf. The Noctua NHd15 cooler isn’t performing well during stress tests, so I’m considering tweaking BIOS settings. Here’s what I have: specs listed, cooler model, RAM, GPU, power supply, and storage. Any tips would be super helpful!

download intel xtu offers a simpler method for undervolting your CPU compared to using BIOS. https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/...l-xtu.html follow the guide on how to adjust your CPU voltage with intel xtu. if you encounter any issues, you can find solutions in online articles or post questions in this discussion thread.

I don’t know how to locate the undervolt protection setting in your system. You might need to check the manufacturer’s manual or contact their support for guidance. Searching online isn’t yielding clear results, so consider reaching out directly to technical help.

I put the program in place, but it won’t start unless I turn on the overvoltage safeguard, so I can’t lower the voltage on the CPU.

This guide will assist with the Intel support page you mentioned. Simply turn on undervolt protection in the BIOS and adjust it under advanced settings—XTU should function properly afterward.

If XTU remains unresponsive, you can adjust the CPU voltage via BIOS. The method is similar to XTU but uses a different interface. Note other options exist, like replacing the cooler or upgrading hardware. In some cases, monitoring tools such as HWMONITOR may help detect overheating without changing settings.
