Unstable system behavior and visual issues reported.
I upgraded my graphics card a few weeks ago from an RX 580 to an RX 5700, which I got used. When I bought it, I didn’t pay much attention to the details and it came with a worn condition shown in the pictures. The I/O shield was corroded, and the card was quite dusty. I used compressed air to remove most of the dust and tried to clean the rust before installing it. For a while, everything worked smoothly. Then I took a short trip and returned, after which the PC started showing green screen issues intermittently. I thought it was the new GPU, so I swapped it back in and it stopped. Now I’m still facing other problems—games crash, screens flicker, and drivers keep timing out. I’ve reinstalled drivers several times and am running low on options. My last option is a fresh Windows 10 install, but I’d rather avoid that. TLDR: The new GPU caused issues after the old one was installed; now I’m dealing with different problems. I have two questions: Did the RX 5700 affect my system? Is a clean Windows installation the only solution? I’ve ruled out PSU problems since I got it brand new, and it has a Gigabyte GP-UD750GM 750W 80+ Gold power supply. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
