Hello everyone, I’m seeking additional perspectives on possible issues with my setup. About a week ago, my system began shutting down unexpectedly and randomly. The screens would go dark, and the GPU fans would increase dramatically—similar to what happens when powering on—and then the system would freeze until I pressed the power button to restart. Occasionally this occurs a few times daily, but sometimes I’ve gone several days without any interruptions. Event Viewer shows only a Critical Event (41) and an Error Event (6008), both indicating an unexpected shutdown.

I suspected a graphics driver problem because of the black screen and fan behavior, so I used DDU to uninstall and reinstall the newest Nvidia drivers. I also updated the motherboard BIOS and reformatted the system to eliminate other software conflicts. After that, I reinstalled Windows, but crashes persisted.

Now I’m considering hardware faults. Interestingly, two of my DP to HDMI adapters stopped working right after the first crash. This raises the possibility it could be a GPU issue. I’m worried about replacing the GPU and wondered if upgrading the PSU is worth it before swapping components. Before trying further fixes, could you suggest something else I might test?

My system is roughly three years old. Here are my specs: Windows 11 Home 64-bit, MSI MPG B550 Gaming Plus (BIOS July 2023), AMD Ryzen 7 3800X with Precision Boost enabled, 2x32GB G.Skill Sniper X RAM (DDR4-3200 CL16, XMP active), EVGA SC Ultra Gaming RTX 2060 Super (stock), WD Blue SN550 1TB NVMe SSD (boot drive), Samsung 850 EVO 1TB SATA SSD (games drive), Corsair RM750 PSU (750W, 80+ Gold).

Thank you in advance for any advice.
