I7 6700K 4.0 stock, Boost 4.2
GA-Z170X-Gaming 7 (from gigabyte)
Memory: 8,092 MB Corssair 3000 ghz
Running Prime95
4.6 I encountered a Blue Screen
4.7 ghz caused an error in prime95
4.8 ghz resulted in a Blue screen
I’m only using my PC for gaming... not running any other programs or stressing the CPU
I won’t exceed more than 50% CPU usage. (Playing Battlefield 1, Rainbow Six Siege and Dead by Daylight) I don’t intend to surpass that limit.
My question is:
Would it be acceptable to overclock to 4.8 only for gaming?
Could this damage the CPU? Why?
Does CPU usage percentage affect overclocking?
Experts, I really need your advice. I’m a beginner... Please help. Thanks.

Stop using the word "cloak." Also, search for instructions on overclocking or check forum discussions—why would you risk using an unstable CPU?

Because I'm not utilizing over 50% of the CPU.
