Hi, I've noticed some crackling sounds on my Windows 10 PC lately. Usually fixing it by restarting helped, but now it keeps happening. My PC connects through HDMI to a TV, and from that TV I use a 5.1 sound system via an optical cable. Since restarting resolved the issue often, it seems like a driver issue might be the cause. I've tried several steps: used the TV's built-in speaker, connected the 5.1 system through the optical cable, plugged in a laptop with the same HDMI cable, and even used Bluetooth to connect the PC. The crackling disappeared in each case. It looks like the sound drivers for Bluetooth speakers are functioning properly. I updated my graphics driver to version 21.3.1 and the Radeon software to the latest recommended version, but the problem persists. I also reinstalled the Windows audio drivers, though that didn't help. Could you suggest ways to fix this or help me troubleshoot further?

Hi! I’ve faced the same issue too. I searched for weeks without success—tried turning off sound enhancements, rolling back drivers, resetting Windows, but nothing helped. Eventually, I reached out to HP’s support, who ran tests and suggested a clean installation of Windows 10 from a USB drive. I booted from that USB, performed a clean install (without any manufacturer software), and the popping and crackling disappeared completely! Let me know if this works for you. Best regards.
