Unstable Internet Connection - Running ISP Router in Modem Mode and Home Router Setup
I recently installed a hub 4 and encountered the same issue when using a dummy switch for my son's consoles. There was an IP conflict—have you verified they weren't both trying to use the same address? For example, if the hub's IP is -193.165.1.2, the modem or switch should be 193.165.1.103 (must differ from any other connected device). All devices need to connect to the hub's default gateway, which should be 193.165.1.2.
In bridge mode this should not matter. Some users say you must switch off both hub and router after changing to modem mode. Leave them off briefly, restart the router making sure DHCP is active for WAN and that the WAN port connects to the hub. Then power on the hub and let it run for a while. Also remember the Archer C7 is a modest router; NAT acceleration might be needed for mid or higher traffic but could also lead to instability if enabled. If it’s running, consider turning it off temporarily.
