Unstable connection or delay in a random PC setup
Unstable connection or delay in a random PC setup
Hey everyone! This is something I've dealt with for quite some time. Trying to recreate the problem is straightforward: I launch Task Manager, and everything works just fine. But when I click on a program—especially those with ads or video content—I notice the mouse barely moves, the screen lags, and the task manager takes a moment to appear. The RGB fan also slows down initially (just a color shift around it) before resuming once everything stabilizes.
This happens randomly when launching different apps or web pages. I suspect it's related to the GPU or drivers, though I've checked all the usual settings, run diagnostics, and even swapped out my SSDs to rule out hardware failure. Despite that, the issue persists across various PCs and builds.
I went through a full PC rebuild and reinstalled Windows 11, but nothing changed. My colleagues on the team don’t have the same problems, except for certain components that moved between systems. The list of affected parts is pretty specific:
- Corsair 720 Air Carbide Case
- Elgato 4k60Mk2 (PCIe)
- Corsair H150i RGB
- General USB peripherals
- Original specs: 10900k, 2080Ti, ASUS Strix Mobo
- 10900k 2080Ti with 2 860 EVOs and 2 970 EVOs
- 32GB Corsair Venge 3000MHz RAM
- 1000W Corsair RM PSU
- 8-year-old SSD (likely failed)
- Seasonic PRIME 1300 Platinum (1300W)
- Intel Core i7-12700K
- Nvidia RTX 3090
- 500GB Samsung 850 Evo SSDs
I’m stuck and don’t know what’s causing it. I’ve been in tech since my teens, and this is the only issue I’ve ever had with such precision. The environment is perfect—cool airflow, minimal dust, fans running smoothly, temps staying under 70°C during games.
Any tips or insights would be greatly appreciated!
I enjoy playing many games, and even in the toughest ones my FPS stays steady, and the titles don’t trigger this issue. I don’t use any overclocks, and I believe the only change in BIOS was XMP settings.
