I believe you're on the correct track, but if you're consistently reaching 100°C and encountering issues, it's likely a thermal concern or at least a significant problem. It shouldn't be throttling at that temperature regularly. I’d probably hold off on the PSU until you address the heat management concerns.

Do you both think this issue is related to the software or the driver? I plan to reset the CMOS and perform some tests with a clean boot tomorrow. Would it help to simply reinstall Windows? It's straightforward for me to do that. I mostly use the OS on my C drive, not much else.

I also have a bigger case, an AIO with more power, and a 1200w PSU coming soon. Could the CPU temperature be the reason?

Any of these factors might be responsible, and actually, all of them could play a role. It’s similar to being very unwell and discovering you have high blood pressure, diabetes, Covid, gout, pneumonia, and kidney stones. Of course, one issue is likely more severe than the rest, but each contributes to your overall health problems. Removing just one won’t fully resolve the situation. You need to tackle all health concerns to return to a better state, because fixing only a few will still leave you feeling quite unwell. Thermal issues can damage hardware, so if there’s a thermal problem, it should be addressed first. A clean Windows install followed by manually installing each driver I mentioned earlier would make sense, even if it isn’t the main issue. This approach would also save you money since the medicine only costs time. It would be useful if you could answer my previous questions and provide details about your current hardware and any upcoming upgrades.

It might also stem from an incompatibility or a hardware issue. Have you completed the userbenchmark yet?
Look at the temperatures during operation, and check again using corewmp or something similar.

Userbenchmark is currently a paid service with a paywall. Except for a quick check for obvious configuration errors, it has rarely been very helpful overall. More value comes from downloading, installing, and running HWinfo (select Sensors Only when launching) and capturing screenshots of all sensors—usually requiring some scrolling between images to get everything. Taking extra screenshots while the machine is idle can also be beneficial.

I placed all my orders and decided it would be simpler to complete everything at once. I was already considering upgrading the PSU soon after others mentioned 1000W might not be enough. I chose the Thor because I hadn't received any updates yet and saw some positive reviews online. Its predecessor was highly regarded. Where do you find reliable professional reviews?

Haha, it doesn’t look great for all the high-end components, but I’ve always enjoyed this case and it maintained the huge GPU vertical I liked:
https://www.coolermaster.com/catalog/leg...es/haf-xb/
I was restricted to a 240mm size due to space - MSI MAG Coreliquid P240 - AIO
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09931...=UTF8&th=1

I’m expecting the MSI k360 v2:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BFSV727M?psc...ct_details
The room temperature here is around 62-65°C, but I’m currently in a desert environment, which is unfamiliar to me. The thermal exchange feels different without the humidity.

I completed the benchmark and shared the results. There are two comments above the one you're addressing.

What case did you place an order for? How many case fans will you be using, and which brands are they? Where are you installing the AIO cooler, and in what setup—intake or exhaust? I’d recommend skipping the Thor order and opting for the Super Flower unit instead. It offers superior power delivery compared to most similar ATX 3.0/PCIe 5.0 systems available right now, which makes sense given its origin as a high-end model from EVGA’s well-known series like G2, P2, T2, G3, and G7, along with their Leadex variants. However, it’s your call.

The problem when capturing screenshots during those activities lies in the fact that everything is displayed in full screen or randomly. I can check if this also affects windowed mode. I downloaded the app and captured idle screenshots.
