My setup has been shaky for quite some time now. Let me clarify: During power cuts I couldn’t get my PC up for hours. It would boot but freeze right away when the Windows logo appeared. Eventually it would start properly, even handling demanding 3D work and gaming tasks. Yesterday I upgraded to a new Intel Core Ultra 7 265k with a new motherboard, NVMe WD Black drive, and kept my old 1000W Corsair PSU and RTX 3080. At first it refused to boot at all—Bios looped endlessly. After an update, I reinstalled Windows and it now boots instantly with no problems, even under heavy stress. When the GPU isn’t connected, it works perfectly; stress tests and integrated graphics run smoothly. But once the card is plugged in, it freezes during Steam or file explorer use—just a freeze on the screen without a crash or black screen. Running benchmarks isn’t possible. Temperatures are normal between 30-50°C. My guess is either the PSU is failing only when the GPU is on, or the GPU is struggling under load. Still, I’m puzzled about why it was so unstable before the upgrade. It was shaky but now it behaves better. I’m planning to buy something today and just need another perspective before spending money on an RTX5080.

You might test memtest86 at night using a USB drive—it should work fine. Your problem could stem from software, so verifying Windows or reinstalling the program could assist. Try those options first: open cmd as admin and run both DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth sfc /scannow
