Unraid Docker help
Unraid Docker help
Hey there, curious reader! Let's dive straight in. I've got a home server with Unraid, a 2TB Seagate HDD and a 120GB Crucial SSD. It's not a huge storage setup, just what I had on hand. I've organized it like this: a 2TB drive as Disk1, the SSD acting as cache, and no parity until later. That's my current layout.
The challenge is launching a PixelMon Minecraft server (PixelMon version 1.16.5-9.0.10-universal.jar) on an existing world. Sounds straightforward, right? Probably. I've experimented with various dockers but haven't had success getting them to work. Plus, Cloudflare is already handling a custom domain perfectly, so I just need some guidance on tweaking the server setup.
I tried three different options:
1. **binhex-minecraftserver** (third choice) – ran it normally and connected to my domain. Got it working but didn't know how to adapt it for PixelMon.
2. **Pixelmon from Goobaroo's repo** (second choice) – started up fine, but I wasn't confident about moving directories or configuring RAM properly. No GUI I remember, but the RAM settings were tricky.
3. **MineOS-node from clowrym's repo** (first choice) – connected instantly and worked with my domain. The only hiccup was setting RAM correctly; there were some restrictions and permission issues that made it hard to launch.
My guess is my share settings or permissions might be off. I'm open to suggestions if you have any experience. I'm aiming for a smooth PixelMon server with a custom world, supporting up to 12 players, minimal lag, and a user-friendly interface. If possible, I'd prefer the MineOS-node version, but any of these could work if you can help. Thanks in advance for your time! -Kaleb
