Unpleasant G2A encounter, aiming to share feedback constructively.
People often seek deals to save money. It could be a lower price or a discounted amount. The main concern for shoppers is whether the seller is trustworthy. This was definitely the journey I went through. Thousands of opinions and ongoing discussions in forums confirmed it’s a reliable shop. I agree they remain an effective method for obtaining keys at affordable rates. Yet this discussion centers on my recent issue with the platform. I’m new to purchasing via G2A and doubt I’ll buy more than once. Still, I’ll share what happened. My initial impression was positive, as the site helped me secure a key for under $20. However, after loading it, I discovered it was a German edition—unexpected since I’m Canadian and speak English. This made me question whether I truly received the game I thought I bought, an English version of Black Ops. The Shield feature seemed to work, but the experience was far from ideal. I reached out to G2A support, but their assistance was minimal. They blamed activation issues due to regional restrictions and offered a refund or a new key, which I received without any real help. Eventually, I faced another ticket request demanding proof of activation, only to find it was a different region’s key. This situation left me frustrated and unsure if I should avoid the site altogether. I’m still exploring solutions, but I’ll keep sharing what I learn. Stay alert—this isn’t the end of my story.
No worries about the situation! I won’t exaggerate—I’ve only had positive interactions with G2A. They’re known for their support, but there are some concerns too. That’s why I make it a point to avoid reaching out whenever possible.
I understand. I aimed to achieve the same outcome, but unfortunately it didn't turn out as expected. I also learned that the support wasn't available, which confirmed my concerns.
I've heard this before from others. Mostly I steer clear of G2A these days. I don't purchase games very often now, so it doesn't matter much. Occasionally I do buy something there.
And I don't doubt it, it simply came to be that I was unlucky.
Did you purchase from G2A or a seller? I bought Shadow of Mordor from a seller and had my Steam gift revoked because of payment problems. I reached out to support, asked for screenshots, but they didn’t reply until I messaged them on Facebook. A friend there assured me they’d expedite the process, and after about two hours I received a refund. Many people on Facebook have shared similar experiences—long delays or no replies for days or even months before someone claimed a refund. You might want to give it another shot.
Well as I Was told that I'm entitled to refund from live chat so I'm awaiting that, the problem is making their support realize this. Social media may be very interesting way to solve this. As far I know it was bought from g2a that's what I had selected so unless it changed somehow in the checkout I did not touch it.
