Others have pointed out the benefits of integrated graphics when your GPU fails. I faced a similar issue last year with my NVIDIA card, which developed visual glitches rendering it useless. Ya, It perform slightly better then people just see benchmark and ryzen 5600x destroy intel. Am I wrong? The truth of the matter is 6 cores won't last very long because zen 4 and alder Lake is coming soon. They developed 16 cores or 20 cores processor because its is the future. 6 cores will be a budget machine when they come out. What about people that multitask, open chrome while playing game, is 6 cores enough for those thing at once? I'm not hating 6 cores processor, 5600x is a great cpu especially gaming. But 8 cores is gonna be mainstream sooner than later. If you think 6 cores is enough for you then great rock on, play your games. The answer always its depends on your situation and needs.

I just switched from my 3770K and it handled gaming okay. Six cores aren't that bad, especially compared to what you're expecting. However, when I checked more benchmarks, Intel still stands out as solid. I'm currently using an AMD, but it hasn't been long enough to make me a fan. I understand what you mean—back then, I used top-tier gear that usually outperformed most others, particularly AMD systems. Fortunately, time gives the future a chance. It's not about being future-proof as long as IPC improvements exist, and I think that's the case. Ten years ago, I tried something similar, only to see a newer quad-core chip defeat my six-core setup.
